Valley Of Fire Rock Formations BW

Valley Of Fire Rock Formations BW - One of the many red rock formations at the Valley of Fire State Park in Nevada.

This particular sandstone formation gives the illusion of a balancing act, with the setting sun in the background.

Valley of Fire is Nevada's first state park which was dedicated in 1935 it was designated as a National Natural Landmark in 1968. It covers an area of almost 42,000 acres and derives its name from red sandstone formations, formed from great shifting sand dunes during the age of dinosaurs.
